Introduction

My name is Denise and it was suggested that I start a coupon blog. However, while pondering the thought last night, I realized that I want to make it more about saving. Saving encompassing many things such as: time, money, stress etc.
I have been couponing for about 4 years. It started when I lost my job and I saw someone on Facebook a bit and thought.hmmmmm.... I could do that.  I am a single parent, and I have been for nearly 14 years. After losing my job, I really needed a way to save money.
My first couponing adventure I purchased over $400 worth of groceries for about $200. That was 50% off!. I did find myself getting frustrated after watching the TV show Extreme Couponing, because I could not figure out why I could not get that good! Then, I had an epiphany! I have no need to be like that. I know now that many of those are unrealistic for our area. We do not have stores that automatically double every coupon.
So here is what I want to share with you. Saving is saving, whether it is $1 or $100. Every single coupon printed is money that is just printed on different paper. I am not here to teach you to become hoarders. No one needs 128 boxes of pasta. In fact, when I first started I got pasta on sale, with coupons for .10 cents a box. I for 27 of them. I wound up giving half away. We just don't eat enough of it. If I can save you $20 a week, then I will feel successful. That is $80 more a month, $840 a year and so on. What can you do with $20 more a week?
I will hopefully share my ideas on how you can save on your grocery bill and at meal time. I am an avid crock pot user and you can save so much time and money by using it. Learning the tricks of the grocery game takes a little time, but it is so worth knowing how to save that I think everyone should learn.

So, welcome to my very first blog. Keep checking in and you can be saver savvy in no time.
